Organ and Piano
(Zacharias) Herrington first presented concerts with her sister, Tina
Smith Cowan (deceased), who was organist at First Baptist Church in
Albany Georgia. Several concerts were presented during the years in
Albany, Georgia at First UMC, Porterfield UMC, First Baptist, Wynnton
UMC in Columbus, Georgia, and Dunwoody Baptist in Atlanta, Georgia.
Their most popular concert was, "How Sweet The Sound."
Another concert, "The
Everlasting Songs ... Yesterday and Today" was presented
with Sherri Barrett at First UMC in Albany, Georgia; First UMC in
Conyers, Georgia; Haygood UMC, Atlanta, Georgia; and St. Timothy UMC,
Stone Mountain, Georgia.
portion of the concert features classically written arrangements of the
great old hymn tunes, such as "All Hail The Power" (from which the
concert name was lifted) and "Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee"; and the
"Today" portion features powerful arrangements of the newer,
more contemporary music such as "Holy Ground" and "How Great Thou Art."
